Resources for agencies

Community agencies are often the main source of information for
newly-arrived migrants.

Increasingly, asylum seekers live in the community and are supported by a range
of agencies other than specialised services such as the ASRC.

These agencies may have extensive – and very relevant - experience working with
refugees, but may know little about asylum seekers and the specific barriers
they encounter.

As a community agency providing support with housing, welfare, health or
social engagement, you may be expected to provide advice on education and
employment options.

This section of the website offers information about good practice approaches
with asylum seekers, and links to resources that can support understanding
of education and employment options for asylum seekers in Australia.
